CIVITAS Forum 2024

The CIVITAS Forum makes its return with a dynamic three-day conference, serving as the flagship event of the CIVITAS Initiative. Since its creation in 2003, the CIVITAS Forum has become an essential platform for participants to learn from leaders and experts of sustainable and smart mobility. It also promotes the sharing of ideas and helps build relationships among important players involved in transforming urban mobility across Europe.

The CIVITAS Forum 2024 will take place in the picturesque city of Parma, Italy, from 1-3 October 2024. It will focus on how the CIVITAS community is shaping the future of urban mobility and contributing to the mobility renaissance! Typically attracting around 600 attendees, the conference will see participation from a diverse group of stakeholders including city representatives, policymakers, practitioners, planners, academics, and mobility enthusiasts.

The CIVITAS Initiative helps cities across Europe to implement and test innovative and integrated strategies which address energy, transport and environmental objectives. SUM is part of the CIVITAS Initiative by being one of the selected projects cooperating with this initiative. Within this, SUM is also involved in the  New Mobility Services (NMS) partnership , part CIVITAS, is a collaborative network dedicated to the large-scale deployment of innovative mobility services. It focuses on advancing Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS), Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM), and on-demand shared mobility concepts. These endeavors aim at fostering sustainable urban environments through a blend of research, testing, and piloting – a practical ‘learning by doing’ strategy.

Applications are now being accepted from those interested in contributing their know-how, tools, solutions and challenges to this exciting event. The central theme guiding this 19th edition of the CIVITAS Forum is, “Mobility Renaissance: a holistic approach to urban transformation”.
